Cup and Saucer by Rosemarie DurrExtremely hard waring stoneware pottery in a powder blue glaze. Elegantly designed by an award winning ceramicist, this stoneware has the delicacy more commonly found in porcelain.
These penguin jugs are what first drew me to Lucinda's work. The penguin reference is subtle and the jug shape is a brilliant fit with their barrel shaped bodies. As is typical of Lucinda's work it is thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. These jugs are blown so do vary but approximately 16cms high (small) and 22 cms high (large).
Old Irish chair circa 1890 and popularly known as a 'famine' chair since it is made in the style of furniture that emerged in Ireland during the 1850's when people had limited resources and built pieces out of foraged wood and branches from hedgerows (stick furniture). Poignant furniture that has become rare and very beautiful.
