Iona grew up around a variety of crafts people, being exposed to making from a young age although it wasn’t until later this early seed of inspirations began to develop. After attending Newcastle University to study Marine Biology and then working as a restaurant manager for a number of years, she gained a place on the prestigious DCCOI Ceramics Skills Course in Thomastown, Kilkenny. Under the expert tuition of master potters she developed her skill and personal style.
