Rosemarie Durr is trained at the Crafts Council of Ireland’s in the world renowned Pottery Skills Course (Thomastown, Kilkenny) in 1996. Afterwards, she worked as a production potter in some of Ireland’s leading pottery studios. In 2004 she began life as a studio potter.

Craftsmanship and design are key to Rosemaries work. Each hand thrown pottery bowl, plate or cup is formed on the wheel using stoneware clay. She shares her studio with her husband, Andrew Ludick who is a ceramic artist and also featured in the I am of Ireland collection.

“The minute I touch the clay I am instantly in control and ready to create. The process is important to me, the making, being on the wheel. It’s all very therapeutic.” Rosemarie Durr
