It is is interesting to note that Eamon Colman trained alongside Howard Hodgkin and Frank Auerbach during his early years. In the work Monument, featured below Eamon painted the subject matter many times over, as did Auerbach, in an effort to better understand the object through the world of paint.
Eamon Colman was born in Dublin in 1957. He is an elected member of Aosdana since 2007 in recognition of his major contribution to Irish culture. His professional career spans from 1979, to include over forty solo exhibitions. In 1997 he was invited to host a major mid term retrospective exhibition of his work at the Royal Hibernian Academy.
