Antonio Lopez is a painter and studio potter based in the foothills of the Ballyhoura mountains in north County Cork. He works in stoneware and porcelain, creating a range of tableware and unique one-off pieces. He strives to make objects that convey a sense of peace and calm. The muted colour palette conjures the Irish landscape. This in addition to his continued exploration of form, colour and mark making are a continued source of inspiration.
Antonio has received a number of awards to include; DCCI Future Makers award, 2020, Ceramics Ireland Creativity in Craftsmanship Award, 2020, Gallery Zozimus Award, 2020. His work is also in the National Museum of Ireland collection.
