Porcelain by Jack Doherty

Porcelain by Jack Doherty hand thrown and covered with a porcelain slip containing copper carbonate. During firing a mixture of Sodium Bicarbonate and water is sprayed into the kiln at high temperatures. The resultant reactions leave behind a great and subtle of palette of smoky grey, russet, turquoise and lemon. Please specify whether you would like a pourer or cup when ordering. Sold individually. PLEASE ALLOW 6-8 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY.

In 2008 Jack Doherty took up the post as lead potter at the Leach Pottery. During this time he developed a range of functional ware that respected the ethic and history of pottery but also had its place in the contemporary market. These cups and pourers are a continuation of this work and bring about a beautiful fusion between the historical and contemporary functional form. Highly tactile to express a beautiful interplay between texture and glaze.

In 2020 Jack Doherty was a finalist in the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize.
